With this year’s Spring Transform Challenge less than a month away, you may be asking yourself “What do I need to do now to prepare?” Since the challenge will last 45 days (and Iron Tribe is providing you with all necessary materials) the only thing you should be doing now is asking yourself a few basic questions.
Transforming your life to a healthier you is always a challenge — no matter where you are in your fitness journey. I’ve been there and it’s not easy. With any challenge, your workout routine and daily nutrition habits will play key roles.
Here are a few questions you should ask yourself now to understand where you are now and how to plan where to go next:
What is my current situation?
Talk to a coach about your current nutrition and activity levels. A good way to start this conversation is by completing a one week food intake and activity log. Then, write down some reasonable goals about your food intake and your exercise habits. Understand your limits and set attainable goals so you won’t get bogged down with unrealistic expectations.
What is my “why?”
Write down a list of things that motivate you to be healthier. This list might include body image, family, quality of life or wanting to reduce pain and improve general health. Once your “why” is in place, your motivation to stick with your goals will be stronger.
How can I get started?
Start simple. Signing up for the Spring Transform Challenge is an excellent way to make a commitment and get started. Or, you an set personal challenges for yourself now like walking an extra mile a day, drinking an extra glass of water or giving up sweets for a week.
