Tips for Staying Hydrated During #MarathoninMay

We’ve been having a blast seeing everyone’s #MarathoninMay posts! This is the perfect time of year to lace up and get some fresh air all while improving our fitness.

If you’ve been crushing a mile a day, then it’s important to remember to monitor your water intake. Even if you’re just doing your regular Iron Tribe workouts, this time of year calls for a little extra H20.

If you’re looking for additional strategies to ensure you’re getting the proper amount of water to fuel your extra miles, then check out these tips:

Tip #1: Drink a glass first thing in the morning.

If you make it a habit to down at least 16 oz. of water first thing when you wake up, you’re more likely to keep your water intake high throughout the day. 

Tip #2: Make it flavorful!

If you’re one of those people who needs a little extra flavor, then try adding some natural fruit to your H20 like some lemons, limes or ever substituting frozen blueberries for ice cubes. 

Tip #3: Download an app.

There are a million apps for tracking your water intake. Find one that works well for you and track your H20 throughout the day! 

Tip #4: Sip before you snack.

Make it a habit to drink at least a half glass of water before any snack or meal. This will also ensure that you don’t overeat (hunger is often disguised as dehydration!)
